Welcome to the Animal Advocate Wiki
The Animal Advocate Wiki is an educational and research tool for animal advocacy. It was launched in February 2023 and is a project by the Animal Advocate Alliance.
The Animal Advocate Alliance is a community driven, global network of animal advocates dedicated to the freedom and protection of all animals worldwide. We are founded on a simple, but powerful principle: we can do more together than any of us can do alone.
Animal [noun] any member of the kingdom Animalia.
Advocate [verb] to speak or write in favor of; support or urge by argument; recommend publicly.
Wiki [noun] a website that allows users to add, delete, or revise content by using a web browser.
Imparting your knowledge with others is a critical part of animal advocacy and will help build the animal advocate community.

Contributing to the Animal Advocate Wiki
To avoid spambots and vandalism the Animal Advocate Wiki is currently editable by registered users only but this will change once the configuration is finalized. At the moment we are working on how to effectively balance the ease of reader contributions with the manual workload required to combat spamming and deliberate vandalism (otherwise it would be open access like Wikipedia). If you are interested in being a moderator contact us.
To ensure accuracy contributions are checked and cited where applicable and possible. Some external links are archived to reduce link rot and these can be identified by the domain 'archive' in the link.
If you would like to contribute or start a page please request an account or contact us and help build a knowledge base of animal protection issues and actions. Contributions come in many sizes. They could be a whole page, a series of pages or simply knowing the year of when something happened. But they are all just as valuable. The sum of our knowledge is greater than the whole!
You can register for an account without providing a real name but at present an email address is required to inform you that the account has been created.
